Can my child miss school/classes without consequence?

Yes, while we would appreciate notice, there is no consequence for missing classes

Can I pay less if my child is going to miss a lot of classes?

No, it is the same price if your child attends all, some, or barely any classes.

What is the sibling discount?

Any additional student registered from the same family receives a 10% discount.

Is there a tardy/late policy?

While we would appreciate notice, there is no tardy/late policy. We understand that children have dentist appointments, speech/occupational therapy, or maybe you wanted to get a donut with them before school.

If I have to take my child out early, can I?

Yes, again, we understand that appointments happen, or maybe you want to get a head start on your vacation, you absolutely can take your child out of school early with written notice so we can have your child ready to go.

Is there homework?

We do not assign homework. However, we do send home optional supplemental worksheets from Tuesday’s classes for families who wish to extend learning at home.

If my child misses a day, will I receive the work missed?

For Academic classes, every child will receive a folder at the end of the week with all their completed work, if your child misses a day, their incomplete work will be in the folder for them to finish on their own.

What is this weekly folder?

Academic Program students will receive two folders each week. Tuesdays, a folder with optional supplemental work will be sent home. On Fridays, a folder containing all completed work from the week will be sent home for your review and/or submission to your child’s Charter School teacher for assessment. We do not grade student work; grading is the responsibility of the parent or the Charter School teacher.

Are your teachers qualified?

Yes, our Academic teachers are qualified teachers. depending on their grade they hold: ECE, CA Credential, ACSI Credential, or a MA in Education (or a combo). Our Elective teachers are trained in their craft and have been vetted to teach their skills to our students.

Is Sova Learning Academy a Charter School?

No.
Sova Learning Academy is an independent nonprofit corporation. We do not provide funding for students, maintain attendance records, or keep cumulative files.

Does my child have to be enrolled in a Charter school to attend Sova Learning Academy?

Sova Learning Academy is an independent, non-profit tutoring center. Charter school enrollment is not required to participate in our classes. All registration and service fees are the responsibility of the enrolling family.

Do you require Vaccinations?

Sova Learning Academy is an independent non-profit organization and is not subject to the same vaccination mandates and/or requirements as traditional public schools. We respect parents’ right to make medical decisions for their families and leave those choices to their discretion.

Are you a nut-free facility?

Due to severe student allergies, Sova Learning Academy is a strictly nut-free facility. Please ensure that all lunches and supplemental snacks packed from home are completely free of nuts and nut products.

You provide snacks?

Students should bring a packed lunch from home each day. While we provide nutritious snacks during recess and between elective classes, students are welcome to bring additional items from home to supplement their meals as needed.

Do you take school pictures?

Yes, we capture school photos twice a year—once in the fall and once in the spring. We are pleased to provide these high-quality images to you at no additional cost as part of our commitment to documenting your student’s growth. Additionally, we celebrate our community by creating and providing a yearbook at the end of the spring semester, which is also included in your program experience.
